She is the crimson princess and as such, deserves better than the life he has given her. Kisuke is well aware of this, and he apologizes to her each morning when he wakes. He looks at her through his mirror and sees her waiting, a stark pale beauty with ink black hair. Her eyes and lips are still the same shade of vibrant ruby red, but her robes are muted now, pastel reds. Kisuke remembers when her robes bled like fresh blood and smiles nostalgically.
She forgives him every time because she loves him. The greater the height, the greater the fall; she knew what she was doing when she choose her genius Kisuke. Even now, in this life, away from everything familiar to her, she will not abandon him. The strings of fate are red too and she is still the crimson princess.
She begins to feel her age while educating the Zangetsu brat. He is so modern with his shades and coat and sideways world; she is ancient in comparison. But when she tries to trade in her robes for a more current fashion, Kisuke tells her he loves her just as she is. Then, for a moment, it is centuries ago, when he was a boy proclaiming his love for her. She remembers how she felt that day, how she feels now, and realizes that while she may be older, she will never go out of style.
Kisuke tells her he is not worthy of her, that no other soul slayer would still be so strong after lying dormant for so long. The crimson princess neither agrees nor disagrees with him, only smiles her dangerous smile and sets out to teach these new whelps just how alive she really is. Her robes are brilliantly vermillion once more as she dances for Kisuke.
She enjoys meeting old acquaintances again after so many years away. Hyourinmaru’s icy whiskers still tickle her palms, and she still doesn’t know which head to address when speaking to Zabimaru. They tell her what the bitch Kyouka Suigetsu has been up to, how the bitch has glittered and swirled and made a mess of everything. She finds she cannot wait to face the bitch; she will show that Suigetsu can never be strong enough, no matter what Aizen has stolen.
Until then, the crimson princess bides her time with her cousin, who has been locked away too long. Her cousin is her closest friend; though Sodeno Shirayuki is her opposite, all pale winter light and night sky eyes, they are cut from the same cloth. They understand each other, they have missed each other, they are happy to dance death together again.
And the crimson princess thinks her cousin might one day surpass her (because of the brat or for the brat, she isn’t sure).
And she thinks that might be okay (because as long as she is still Kisuke’s she will have strength enough to last a hundred lifetimes.)

Chapter 7
"What?!" Ichigo scanned the ice furiously looking for any sort of hint as to the whereabouts of the captain. Without jumping into the sky, his only option would be to smash the ice, but using too many Getsuga Tenshous would wear out his reiatsu, so he set about smashing all of the spikes that were within the range of his sword from the island of ground he was permitted, all the while trying to raise his concentration on the surroundings for warnings of an attack.
Hitsugaya moved every once in a while, still trying to confuse poor Ichigo. He dragged his blade long the ice but the sound echoed, further confusing the other.
"Dammit,

Chapter 5
"Eh?!" Ichigo's eyes widened.
Renji grinned and got to his feet, "We're getting closer!"
"Then I believe training is done for today," Byakuya murmured, jumping down from the rock. Rukia grinned and got up, brushing herself off.
"Let's get going then," she urged.
"Going? To Soul Society? Now?" Ichigo asked, a bit shocked by the news.
"Yes. Least you want your reputation sullied by just being late," Byakuya said calmly, sheathing his sword.
Ichigo simply stared back for a moment before looking over at Rukia. His eyes were visibly full of surprise, anxiety, and even slight fear.
"Alright," he said trying to calm down and not le

Chapter 2
Groaning, Ichigo turned over to face the ceiling. The morning sun was shining in through the window and the drastic change in light blurred his eyes. He rubbed them sleepily and sat up. When he dropped his hand he yelled and jumped back. "Renji?! What are you doing in here?!"
The shinigami was perched lazily on Ichigos desk as if hed been waiting for a while. "Wheres Rukia?" he asked casually.
"Whatre you doing in my room?!"
"Shes staying here isnt she? Where is she?"
The closet door in Ichigo's room slid open and Rukia hopped out.
"Morning," she greeted, "What is it Renji?"
"Guess what!"
Woke up on Christmas day thinking about it, I don't know why, but it's just a piece on Benihime. Cause she's cool, right?
